Gaeton R. turns 7, after the one pm AA Meeting at the Clubhouse. Spaghetti Dinner is on the menu so if you can bring snacks , water, soda, etc. We are going to see if Willie M will bring his famous Salad and does anyone want to bring garlic bread? Congrats on your achievement Gaeton R.

Finally back by popular demand we will start Saturday Movies at 2 pm. beginning Saturday September 24. We will pick movies which have a recovery theme for both the Alcoholic/Addict and or family members. An informal discussion will follow . If you can think of movies you would like to see or share with others. Let us know so we can create a schedule. Bring a snack or beverage if you can. And we will fire up the popcorn machine!!
We also will continue with Sunday dinners after the 1 pm AA Mtg. Last year people volunteered to organize one dinner a year so that we could avoid burnout. Any takers to get us started? We are all very excited that Sailor Steve will soon be donning the Ice Cream Steve hat and we can all resume our ice cream dessert. Its been a long long four months...... naturally we will resume the card games after the 1 pm AA mtg and we are happy to report newcomer Stacy S. just learned how to play!!! If anyone needs a dessert for a meeting Stacy S is your go to person. Awesome job Stacey!
At some point we are going to have another garage sale as we keep receiving donations. We sure could use some volunteers for an hour or two. Especially with set up !
October activities to look forward to include Crafts with Char B., Bill Wilson House Trip, and Recovery through Music . We have not finalized the dates but be the look out. We can add more if you have ideas. We never did the Quilting with Jane which could be a great winter activity and we also through about a Drive Through BBQ for a fundraiser.
Becki B has moved back to Ohio with no plans to return anytime soon. So she has stepped down from the Store and we have recruited Lois J to help out. We need to find Lois a coworker to completely revamp the store. . Are there any volunteers out there? Thanks for all your help the last three years Becki B. We appreciate all the hard work and commitment. What will we do without all the colorful signs you made? not mention the holiday games we have grown accustomed to!
This past Monday Willie M, Heather A. and Sue L cleaned the clubhouse downstairs. The carpets and floors were vacuumed and shampooed, walls washed, woodwork polished and entrance way cleaned. Mike R. set up the new conference table upstairs and we are moving upstairs to clean that room next. We are getting organized. We have recruited Stacey S. to help us out next week but we don't want to leave anyone out so please let us know when you are available!!.
We have had a few activities the month of August. Some of us attended the Jim Brady picnic and then gathered at our campsite for dinner and card games. It was a nice crowd. Good to see you Charlie C , Laurel R., and Peggy W. Char B. convinced us to stay for the week and she made a delicious Steak dinner one night and the next night dinner repeated the dinner. Thanks Doug D. for making the corn on the cob run and Stacy S. for bringing the fruit one of those nights! Gaeton R. kept us supplied in firewood so lots of campfires and card games. Karen M also donated a Sunday dinner of BBQ, cold salads . It was a good summer meal. Thanks Karen . Last week we had pizza and fruit salad thanks to Kathleen M.
More next week !~
