Hi Everybody, I should start calling the updates Two Weeks @ 39 Serenity Place! Luckily there is not a lot to report now that the summer months have kicked in! John F. will be happy about this.... This Sunday July 17 we will be Camping at Coles Creek , site 94 and we will have a picnic at the campsite after the 1 pm AA meeting. (that means no dinner at the clubhouse this week!!) If you need a ride or directions call Sue L or Danny L . Please bring a dish to pass and your lawn chair~ Hope to see everyone there. We are right on the water so peace and serenity is available to those that need it! If you stay long enough we will also have a campfire and smores. Gaeton R. is planning on coming so maybe... he and Danny L can recruit card players. Last week was very slow as many are off vacationing and or spending time with family or just out in the sun. We are still holding meetings but have decided to limit the number of activities we hold until the beginning of September. However, there is an expressed interest in returning to the Boldt Castle Boat Tour so we are planning that for the end of July. Let us know if you want to go. Brian M. has volunteered to hold a Tapping Class for people who are experiencing anxiety and or PTSD. Many of us have taken this class from him in the past and it is worth your while to check it out. It works !! We can hold the class in the summer months or wait until Fall. Please let us know if you are interested. There are two people interested already and we haven't even promoted it ! Also in the Fall Becky B is going to hold a Back to Basics Class for anyone who is interested in an introduction to the Steps. Sponsors you may want to encourage new people to attend. Last Sunday Jim R. purchased pizza for the dinner after the 1 pm AA Meeting , Willie M made his famous salad and Delma W. made a delicious cake. Sadly there was only one container of ice cream and Sailor Steve is still on the High Seas enjoying life. We sure can't wait until he returns to Ice Cream Steve in the Fall. Anyway, Gary M. received his ten year coin at the meeting . Congrats Gary. John F. and Delma W set up the chairs and tables our side and most of the mtg attendees sat outside enjoying a little sun. In fact, there was discussion of holding the 1 pm AA mtg outside on nice days. What do people think? By the way, Congrats to Becky B. on her 40 year Anniversary. That is quite a milestone. At the end of the day Delma W and Char B took a few people to play pickleball. We hear Eric F. loves the game so they may have a new recruit . Although, Gaeton R. did show up, there was no card game ... so Gaeton left! The Sunday before that we were Camping for the fourth of July weekend. It was really nice to see so many people pop out for a visit. Even if it was ten o'clock at night .. Heather A! Welcome George, it was great to see you on Sunday. Pam B & Carol H brought some good salads and Ruthann R. brought hotdogs & rolls and salsa and chips. There was more food but that's all I can remember after two weeks! Thanks to all the stopped by and brought food! The next Anniversaries coming up are Delma W., Willie M. and Lois J.. All three typically celebrate together so stay tuned for dates and times for their celebrations. Also, we have Covid Test kits and masks at the clubhouse if you are in need. Check out the sign in table and take as many as you want. See the meeting list for meeting times and dates. We are starting to get a lot of calls on the clubhouse phone from new people looking for meetings Mondays @ 4:30 PM Al-Anon ; Al-Anon Step Work 5:30 PM Tuesdays @ 7:00 pm PM AA Open Wednesdays @ 5:00 pm Woman's Mtg.
