This Week @ 39 Serenity Place

Hi Everybody,

Summer has finally arrived and just in time for the Pancake Breakfast this Saturday June 18 7:30-11:30 am. From Dope to Hope Speakers are scheduled at Noon. Mike P and Conor L will be speaking about their experience, strength and hope. If it is nice outside we will hold the event outside. The cost of the Pancake breakfast is empty bottles and cans, if you don't have any we accept monetary donations! This is one of our two fundraisers for June. All money will be used to keep the clubhouse open. Please consider joining us and supporting the clubhouse and our two speakers . Although not mandatory, masks are available. This event is open to the Public. So spread the word... See everyone there...

The next day June 19 St John's Episcopal Church has invited us to Barnhardt Beach Pavilion for a Cookout. Church Service is at 11am if anyone is interested and the cookout begins at Noon. We can even hold out meeting out there at one. Please being a dish to pass, beverages and a chair. Also please let Sue L know if you plan on attending. Time is running out to give a number to the church.

The following week we are holding our Annual Garage Sale. Thursday June 23 - Saturday June 25. We have received a lot of donations and need help from all able bodied persons to set up and run the garage sale. If everyone donates a couple of hours we can get the days covered easily. So far Eric F., Delma W., Michelle P., Lois J have volunteered to help out but we need more people . Many hands light work!! It is the last of the summer fundraisers for the clubhouse until late August - early September.

We are still holding dinners after the Sunday 1 pm Meeting. Last week we enjoyed Jim R brought Mac and Cheese and all beef hotdogs. Willie M. made his awesome salad and Heather A. brought in Oatmeal and raisin cookies. Gaeton R. did show up to play cards so we managed to scrap up enough players to get a good game going. thanks Char B and Delma W for sticking around to play . Danny L. walked in after his golf game so he sat in for the last game. The week before we did have a dinner and I just can't remember what we had but thanks to everyone who brought in food! I do remember that Eric F. learned to play pitch and Danny L and Gaeton R. had a fit when he dealt from the bottom of the deck!

We finally are going to schedule some Camping Trips for the clubhouse. We are looking at the first week in July. People are welcome to pitch a tent, pop out for cookouts and campfires and hang out any time they want or get their own site . We always get a site on the water so the view is very peaceful if you are looking for quiet time.

Heather A. would like to set up a craft night sometime soon and has all the supplies for dotting. I will get a better explanation and pictures and people can let me know if there are interested. It is always great when someone initiates an activity, Thanks Heather . Mike R. and Sara M are still working on the Pontoon boat ride and Willie M. has a few dates in mind for the Bonnie Castle Boat tour.

We have had a few donations in the last couple of weeks. Thanks David D. for the twenty dollars and Sherry R. for the ten dollars. Also John B. donated a box of 6 AA Big Books and 6 Experience Strength and Hope books. Thanks Everybody.

Finally we have some sad news... while Sailor Steve is out on the boat we are missing Ice Cream Steve... Last week we were down to one half gallon of ice cream. Bummer ! If you see him out on the high seas someone lease let him know!!
